New Law Affecting Texas Adoptees

Adult adoptees in Texas can now obtain a copy of their original birth certificates thanks to a new law that took effect on September 1, 2005.
You must have each of the following plus 9 dollars to file for the document:
The names of your birth parents.
Be at least 18 years old.
Valid government issued photo ID.
Provide other legal documentation if your name has changed.
Go to the Texas Department of State Health Services for the form.
