In the Forum - Found Birth Daughter, Now What?
Wednesday November 23, 2005
A new member of our forum wants to know how and when to make contact with her newly found daughter. Is 18 old enough to make contact or should she wait? Should she contact the adoptive mother first? Our forum members weigh in on this discussion and help this birthmom sort things out.

no 18 is not to young if anything almost to old ,she must contact her now my personal reserch shows that most young people start to ask and wunder about there parents from 12 to 13 yrs old they then becom angry at about 18 yrs, and will not talk, contact her adopted parents now and include an open letter to the girl , and if you make promises make shure you dont brake any of them cause beleave me you wont get another chance,,it will take a long time to forge a relationship but dont give up ,follow your heart and you will succeed……stevei
I agree that you should contact your birth child as long as 18 yrs meets the state age requirements. Some adoptive parents are in agreement with thier adoptive child meeting birth parents and some are not. I would go straight to the child and let the child make the decision if they want to meet you now or later.
Test topic for you!
