Russian Children Create Holiday Cards as a Fundraising Effort for Camp
Faces of Siberia is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to orphans and children in need, in the Sverdlovsk region of Russia (1000 miles east northeast of Moscow). Started by adoptive parents in the fall of 2002, Faces of Siberia seeks donations of clothing, shoes, medical items and equipment as well as cash contributions. Faces of Siberia offers assistance to children's hospitals, and orphanages in the region as well as local shelters and schools, all on a case by case basis .
This year, as a fundraising effort, the organization offers a selection of holiday greeting cards. All of the cards are original art work by children of the Verkhnayaya Pyshma Orphanage School and Solnishka Children’s Shelter in Verkhnaya Pyshma Russia, which houses children ages 5-12. The back of each card states the child's name, age, and orphanage. All proceeds from the sale of the cards go to support the group's Russian Orphan camps. These camps allow small groups of children to leave the orphanage for a few days throughout the year. The children enjoy hikes, train rides, and time away from the orphanage.
Help give the children an experience of a lifetime - life outside the orphanage. Purchase your holiday greeting cards from Faces of Siberia.
