Top 10 Questions to Ask When Called to take a Foster Child

Monday April 3, 2006
My husband and I decided that now would be a good time to begin taking foster children again. So, I have added our name to the list and have been receiving calls, but nothing has worked out yet. I am nervous as we have not taken a placement since adopting our sons in 2002. We thought that everyone needed a break to settle in, but we did keep our license current with training hours and with the yearly re-licensing ritual of home visit, paperwork and training. When they call us I always make sure to ask a lot of questions - keeping in mind that the placement social worker may not have all the answers. What kind of questions do you ask?
