Ziggy Works with NFPA to Thank and Advocate for Foster Parents

Tuesday April 4, 2006
I had a good friend growing-up who loved the cartoon character Ziggy. She had Ziggy everything: folders, pencils, and a clipboard. If it had Ziggy on it, she owned it. So, I'm guessing that she would be excited to hear about Ziggy's new project. This year Ziggy is joining forces with The National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) to help spread the word about the need for more foster parents. Tom Wilson, Ziggy cartoonist and son of Ziggy’s creator, will also work with the Andrews McMeel Foundation to create “Ziggy’s Gift,” a scholarship for a college-bound foster child. What a great project for the ever happy Ziggy.

Hi,

It really varies. It depends on how fast the state can inspect your home and in Kansas they have 90 days to do the inspection.

We may be getting a placement soon! I’m really nervous and excited. It has been awhile. After we adopted we decided to take a long break to allow our children time to settle.

I know a foster youth who will be 18 in May. She wants to be a veterinarian and is very motivated. How do I find out more about the Ziggy Scholarship?
