Inside a Guatemalan Orphanage

Here are some pictures that go along with an earlier blog about the Cincinnati, Ohio based organization, Friends Through Guatemalan Adoption, that sent a group of women who call themselves Moms on a Mission(MOM's) to Guatemala in the summer of 2005. These pictures will show the great work this group completed. MOM's was made up of women who have adopted from the country, women who just want to help children and teen girls. The group's focus was on working in "hogars," or Guatemalan orphanages, and special care facilities. Take a quick tour of a Guatemalan orphange with the Mom's on a Mission group.

If you have taken pictures of orphanages and want to submit them here to a special gallery, please send them in at adoption@about.com. I think many readers wonder about the living conditions, good and/or bad, that our world's children endure.
