Well, it's the new year and we haven't said one word about Madonna. How can we start the new year out right if we skip her?

Madonna - It seems that she received a glowing report last month from social worker Simon Chisdale after he visited the family at their London home. He referred to Madonna as the "perfect mom" for David in his report. He is recommending that Madonna and Guy Ritchie be allowed to finalize the adoption of David. It was reported that the finalization may occur some time in April. So, if you are the richest woman in music how do you celebrate this kind of news? With a new year's eve party in India of course. I can't even imagine such a lifestyle!

Angelina Jolie - In other reports, Angelina Jolie has confessed that she was scared at first of becoming a mom. She stated that Maddox was the first child she ever held in her life and wondered if she was "too dark" and shouldn't be someone's mom because she lacked confidence in herself. My thoughts? She's just like the rest of us on that one. Or at least like me.

Poll Results - Know what's interesting? According to our informal poll when I asked "What was the top adoption news story in 2007?" Angelina's adoption of Pax was more of an important news story to the readers here than that of Madonna's adoption of David. I found that shocking as Madonna's adoption was a lot more controversial and has been dragging along since October 2006. But, the top story for 2007, according to the poll, was that of Anna Mae He who was placed back with her biological parents at the age of 8. I guess the rights of adoptees and birth parents are an important issue! Top 3 stories of 2007 according to our poll - Anna Mae He, the Evan B.
