Taking Care of Different Needs

I don't know about where you live, but here in KS it's getting COLD! I hate cold weather. It always does a number on my skin. It's also hard on different textures of hair. Mahisha Dellinger, the founder of CURLS, has written an article to help educate foster or adoptive parents in the care and styling of African American or Biracial hair during the winter months.

As foster or adoptive parents we are often called upon to step outside of our own culture to raise and care for a child. What issues have you ran across when it comes to parenting a child outside of your own race? How have you handled the situation?
