New Year's Resolutions for Foster and Adoptive Parents
I received 3 new notebooks for Christmas. I love a new notebook. It holds so many different possibilities. Will one hold ideas for articles for About.com? Will another one be poems and short stories? Will the smaller one ride around in my purse so I can furiously take note of different conversations, grocery lists, or jot down those "how's my driving" numbers? Who knows! That's the fun of a new notebook.
The brand new year is the same for me. Crisp and clean like a new dollar bill, a new year just feels like anything is possible and I try to be very optimistic about what is possible. With that in mind I came up with a list of ideas of New Year's resolutions for foster or adoptive parents. I broke them up by month so making and achieving goals can be easier. I even came up with a list for those thinking about becoming a foster or adoptive parent.

You sound like me, Carrie! I have about three notebooks in my purse right now. My New Year’s resolutions are to consolidate into a single notebook, and also to transfer any reminders into my to-do list ASAP. That is, instead of waiting until the end of the month to realize what I forgot to do.
These are some great ideas for all parents Carrie. Creating manageable goals for each month is helpful too.
Learning about Foster Grandparent programs is one of my resolutions for 2009.
Carrie, I love the idea of month-by-month resolutions. I think it makes it easier to stay focused on them.
Excellent resource, Carrie!
Carrie,
These are great ideas. As a writer who still prefers writing the old fashioned way, it’s nice to see that others haven’t lost touch with a vanishing art form.

Those resolutions are great! I think there are two things you can never do too much of: learning and communicating. But those are the two things we always forget to keep on top of. Thanks for reminding us all!
