The 2009 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces

The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption released its third annual "100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces" rankings this past Friday. Topping the list for the second year in a row is Wendy's International, Inc., which is not affiliated with The Foundation. Wendy's International, Inc., offers a maximum of $24,300 in financial assistance and up to 6 weeks paid leave.

The rankings are determined by the company's adoption benefits which include financial reimbursement and paid leave that is made available to employees who adopt. 753 different U.S. employer's adoption benefits were studied to determine who made the top 100 listing. 2009 saw more than 90 new companies establish or enhance their adoption benefits.

The list of the top 100 also recognizes the top ten by size and the leaders in each industry, as well as companies who support adoption and adoptive families in other ways.
