OK - all my children have now wished me a "Happy Mother's Day." My daughter created a homemade card and made brownies. She is my only child at home at this time. I didn't know whether or not my boys would remember me today, but they did. They have now all called and I'm very happy for that.

I was give the opportunity to parent these boys for 10 years. Some days I couldn't wait until it was over, as it was a rough decade. Now that it is over, for the most part, I can look back on those years and note memories that are best described as bittersweet. Would we adopt them again - yes. I wish I could go back and re-parent my children with my current knowledge. I would do a lot of things differently, but I think all moms feel that way. Right?

I cope with most things in life with writing. Which makes sense considering it's one of my favorite things to do - besides coping with chocolate - but that has not been the best on my hips! So, a few years ago I wrote a little tribute to adoptive moms, which seems to have been popular among other adoptive moms. It think it's a great time to re-read that article and think about the sweet moments, perhaps over a brownie.
