Wichita Abortion Doctor George Tiller Shot & Killed

Sunday May 31, 2009

Dr. George Tiller, age 67, known for performing late-term abortions at his clinic in Wichita, Kansas was shot and killed this morning around 10 a.m. while walking into church services.

Abortion and adoption seem to have been linked together for many years. We see messages to choose adoption not abortion. It is even believed that keeping adoption records closed will prevent unwed mothers from choosing abortion instead of a private adoption. Not true, Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute reported in 2007, that there has been no evidence of open adoption records influencing abortion rates, or adoption rates. I have learned from readers here on the adoption forum, that abortion and adoption are not linked. Expectant mothers who choose abortion are choosing not to be pregnant. Expectant mothers who choose adoption are choosing not to parent.

As expectant mothers search to make a decision about an unplanned pregnancy, it is important that facts regarding every choice before them are equally weighed. We all have our own belief systems, I myself, do not support abortions. However, I am also against shooting people to death in church, in front of family and friends. My heart goes out to all those impacted by today's tragedy.

Update - George Tiller shooting suspect may be charged Monday
A suspect, Scott P. Roeder, of Merriam, KS in Johnson County was arrested today 3 hours after the shooting.
