ISRR co-founder, Anthony S. Vilardi, passed away June 14, 2009. He and his wife, Emma May, created the International Soundex Reunion Registry in 1975, where anyone seeking family could register for free with the hopes of one day being reunited.

Mr. Vilardi was the original Treasurer, and the Registrar after Emma May passed away in 1990. He continued volunteering until October 2001 and then served as Chairman of the ISRR Board for five years. In September of 2001, he married Susan Braun Vilardi, a birthmom, who worked at the registry for over a decade. He remained an Executive Trustee until 2007, even after retiring to Nevada.
