What Back to School Traditions Do You Have?

Friday August 7, 2009

Another busy summer is almost over and I think I'm ready to send my daughter back to school. Do you ever feel that way? That feeling didn't really hit until today, but it definitely hit.

We do have our family traditions when it comes to the first day of school. It includes going in a completely new outfit, pictures, and mom picking you up after school. That last one has some how turned into an everyday tradition.

This is also a great time to take pictures to share with birth families in a foster or open adoption. The first day of school is a special moment for most families.

I also have a tradition when it comes to enrolling new foster children into school, especially if the child is placed in our home and school is already in full swing.
