Definition:
A foster home in which the foster parents have received special training and are required to maintain additional yearly training, in order to care for children and adolescents that suffer from "significant emotional or behavioral problems." Therapeutic foster homes are more closely supervised and are offered more assistance by the foster care agency.
Often called "treatment foster care."
