Finalization

By Carrie Craft, About.com

Definition:

The last step in the adoption process. It involves a court hearing where a judge orders that the adoptive parents becomes the child's legal parents. This could happen in the judge's chambers or a court room.

This could be a large family gathering where you would invite a lot of people to share in your family's moment or a small group. This will all depend on how adoption finalizations are done in your area. Your adoption workers will more than likely be there to help. Be sure to bring your camera.
