15 Activities for Adoption Support GroupsRunning out of ideas for your adoption support group? Here are a few that your families may enjoy. Great ideas for a kids adoption support group. 1. Do service for children who wait in foster care. For some ideas read 9 Ways to Help Children in Foster Care 2. Take a trip to the zoo and have the children find and select an animal that is a favorite from their birth country and tell why at your next group meeting. 3. Seek out pen pals from another country. 4. Picnics in a park. 5. Swimming. 6. Work on scrapbooks/lifebooks. Invite someone to share a completed or updated lifebook and share what it means to them. Maybe focus on a different dance each month? 8. Trips to museums of art, history, etc. 9. Host a food night where families bring traditional dinners. This activity can be done in several different ways - one group creates appetizer, while another does the main course, and a different family brings the dessert.
