  • May brings us many days of celebration. It all began with the full month celebration of Foster Care Awareness Month.
  • Mother's Day and Birthmother's Day was celebrated by many.
  • Changes to China's adoption restrictions were implemented on May 1, 2007. The restrictions now include a weight limit for adoptive parents.

  • Goran Visnjic, who plays ER's Dr. Luka Kovac and his wife, Croatian artist Ivana adopted a baby boy they have named Tin, pronounced teen. Tin was born April 19 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

  • Japan opened it's own safe haven type thing where a parent can anonymously drop off an infant in a mailbox type slot located on the side of a hospital lobby wall. Modeled after a project in Germany, the "baby hatch" opened with much controversy in the city of Kumamoto.

  • I wondered if the means people were going about looking for mothers interested in placing infants for adoption were weird or not, from posters on the highway to MySpace pages it all kind of bugged me. Blog readers had differing opinions.
  • Sheryl Crow became an adoptive mom. The American-born, baby boy was named Wyatt after Crow's dad.
  • Pam Anderson visited a Russian orphanage and spoke of the love she had for the orphans she met. Is she considering adoption in the future?
