  • An Australian couple were informed that their adoption application was suspended until the wife could lose more weight. According to a recent article in news.com.au, the couple reported, "And one of the women said everything was looking good and we would be wonderful parents, but that my weight was holding me back from adopting." Blog readers again saw both sides of the issue.

  • MySpace helped siblings be reunited after being split apart in foster care adoptions. Now, that's a great use of a Web page!
  • A study conducted by professor Joseph Doyle, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Sloan School of Management shown that when a social worker is faced with a choice of whether to place a child in foster care or leave the child at home, the longer term effects on the child are more favorable when the child is left at home with birth family.

  • Families waiting to adopt from Russia were excited when 7 adoption agencies received their re-accreditation. The last two licenses expired April 2007. New licenses have no expiration date, but can be reconsidered at any time.

  • Madonna and family were worried about an upcoming visit from Malawi's head of child welfare services, Penston Kilembe, regarding the adoption of David Banda. Meanwhile, David's birth father was awaiting the birth of a child with his new wife in Africa.
