In September, Arthur, the eight-year-old aardvark, star of Arthur, the Emmy-Award winning children's program on PBS KIDS GO! helped his friend Binky as his family prepared to adopt from China.
- Penstone Kilembe, the director of Malawi's Child Welfare Services, was removed from Madonna's case due to allegations that he sought money from her in order to make an upcoming visit to the family in London. Kilembe denied all accusations.
- We discussed on the blog and in the forum on whether a birth parent should be told upon a relinquished child's death. A tough subject to tackle.
- Forum members felt that WWE Monday Night Raw, Mr. McMahon went to far when he attempted to place his new found son, Hornswoggle, for adoption. Once the adoptive parents were scared away by Hornswoggle's behavior Mr. McMahon said, "You stay the hell away from me! Im embarrassed that I created you! The forum had much to say on this one as every stereotype on all members of the triad seemed to be exploited.
- Hollywood was at it again with Mary-Louise Parker deciding to adopt a little girl from Africa and Madonna was given the green light to take the next steps toward adopting David. Sadly, David's birth father's newest expectant baby ended in tragedy as the baby was delivered still born. This is the third infant Yohane has buried.
- DMC was awarded an Emmy in the Outstanding Arts & Culture Programming category for his VH1 documentary DMC: My Adoption Journey.
- The fall prime time TV line-up seemed to include a lot of foster care and adoption plot lines. So I blogged about it, of course.
