- We learned that for the fourth straight year in a row, the number of foreign children being adopted into American homes dropped. This was probably due to the changes in Russian and Chinese adoption policies. Guatemala came out on top in 2008.
- CBS presented The 10th Annual A Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill which highlighted adoptive families and children residing in foster care who are in need of adoption. I was irritated at myself for missing it this year.
- New regulations went into effect on December 1, 2008 regarding Ukrainian adoptions. The new regulations sets guidelines for the registration of abandoned children and also describes the adoption process for intercountry adoptions.
