• Sometime the morning of December 1, 2010, the fifth round of talks since April took place between the US and Russian officials. The meeting's agenda was to review the final wording of an adoption agreement between the two countries, an agreement that Russia demanded after little Artyom Savelyev, age 7, was sent back to Moscow alone from his adoptive home in Tennessee. The new agreement does make changes to post adoption monitoring of Russian children, one provision does allow monitors to visit adoptive homes post placement.

• CBS presented The 12th Annual A Home for the Holidays, on December 22, 2010, and highlighted adoptive families and children residing in foster care who are in need of adoption. Numerous celebrities including Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5, Ricky Martin Nelly were set to perform as well as a performance by pop sensation Katy Perry will begin the show. The hosts of The Talk, Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur, as well as Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Mira Sorvino ("Mighty Aphrodite") are among the talent set to present.
