Background: Wickenheiser was born on August 12, 1978, in Shaunavon, Saskachewan.
Adoption: Wickenheiser adopted her boyfriend's son, Noah, almost 5 years ago. Wickenheiser has been in the child's life since he was about a month old.
Olympic Record: Wickenheiser competes in the Women's Ice Hockey event for Canada. Her accomplishments include:
  • 1998 - silver medal at the Nagano Games.
  • 2002 - gold medal at the Salt Lake Games
  • 2006 - currently in progress.
  • 2000 - Wickenheiser is also one of Canada's top international softball players. She became the second Canadian woman to participate in both a summer and winter Olympics when she competed 2000 Games in Sydney.
  • Known for ...: being one of the best woman hockey players in the world and has been called the Wayne Gretzky of women's hockey.
    Fun Facts:
  • The distant cousin of former NHL player Doug Wickenheiser.
  • Became the first female hockey player to score a point in a men's professional game on Jan. 11, 2003.
