"In My Heart" BraceletEach bracelet or piece of jewelry is based around a theme, such as a country or a statement. I had the opportunity to examine the "In My Heart" bracelet with the Russian adoption theme. This bracelet included 3 adorable charms; a nutcracker soldier, a snow flake, and a matryoshka (nesting) doll. The doll was a painted bead and was extremely cute. The bracelet was very sturdy and I didn't feel like the beads or charms were going to easily fall off. I was also highly impressed with the clasp; it was very large and seemed strong enough to support daily wear of this item. It is obvious that this piece and its components are of high quality. About the DesignerAn adoptive parent, Barbara Giordano began creating handmade jewelry after receiving a beaded necklace as a gift. Being in a multi-cultural family, her children are the inspiration behind her work. She takes great care and pride in her jewelry designs, and finds the history behind the different gemstones she works with interesting. Giordano is very open to doing custom design work and can create a unique item that will fit any person or family. Having adopted from China, Giordano will contribute 10% of the sales from a select few of her adoption designs to the Half the Sky Foundation. Created by a group of adoptive parents, Half the Sky Foundation creates early childhood, infant nurturing, and other educational programs for the children in China who are growing up in orphanages. See Sunfluer's Jewelry Designs website for information on which adoption jewelry designs help the Half the Sky Foundation. My OpinionI find Barbara Giordano's style fresh and lively. I love unique pieces of jewelry and that is what Giordano offers, uniqueness. Her work is not only well crafted, but beautiful. I recommend her work.Related Guide Picks |
