A bigger version of the single hand print flower, this flower features a photo of the child as the center. A great way to remember this time of a child's growth with not only his/her hand print but a photo.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 30 Minutes Plus Drying Time
Here's How:
- Coat the child's palm including the fingers with a bright color of tempera paint. In the center of a a large (17" X 14") piece of white paper place the child's hand on the paper and lift off leaving the print.
- Re-coat the hand with the same color and make another print next to the first print but rotating it 45 degrees. Continue making prints in an almost closed circle leaving a gap at the bottom for a stem later and a space in the middle for the center of the flower. Continue coating the hand and making prints until you have 6 prints in the above described fashion. Have a wet paper towel or baby wipe handy for easy clean-up of the hand.
- Using green tempera paint create the stem coming down from the center of the hand print circle with a paint brush. Also paint leaves and grass at the bottom.
- While the paint dries cut a large yellow circle from construction paper. Make sure the circle is large enough to cover the space left in the middle of the hand print flower.
- Paste a large picture of the child onto the yellow circle. Having a close up of the child's smiling face is cute. Leave a border of yellow around the picture.
- After the paint has dried glue the yellow circle onto the center of the hand print flower.
- Add the child's name, age, and date.
- Frame as a gift or give as is; this will surely be treasured by family.
