How To Create Hand Print Lilies

By Carrie Craft, About.com

A beautiful bouquet you and your child can put together.
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: 1 Hour

Here's How:

  1. Trace child's hand on several pieces of brightly colored paper. Try white, yellow, pink, orange or other spring colors. Have your child's fingers spread wide.
  2. Cut out the traced hand prints.
  3. Wrap the fingers and thumb of the hand prints around a pencil to curl. Curl them all in the same direction.
  4. Forming a cone shape, fold, without creasing, the hand print so that the fingers are curling out. Tape to hold. Now you have a Lily.
  5. Tape the newly formed Lily onto a pencil, green straw, or pipe cleaner for the stem.
  6. Cut out leaves from green paper and tape to the stem.
  7. Make more flowers and arrange in a vase. Consider adding small candy to the centers of the lilies for an additional treat.
  8. Give as a gift to someone special.

What You Need:

  • Construction paper in a variety of colors
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Straws or pipe cleaners
  • Vase
  • Small candy (optional)
