Biography:
Luann, my wife, and I started off as foster parents. Our first foster child was a special needs child whose parental rights were terminated. Our county could not find a home for him so we adopted him when they asked us. We have never looked back and have since adopted several more (5 adopted, 3 foster, 1 relative we are permanent guardians for, and 2 biological children. We made a decision several years ago that we would do only special needs adoptions and have never regretted our decision. Adoptive parents who pass on special needs children have no idea what wonderful things they are missing out on. We live in Virginia and are on an adventure every day with our kids.
About the Poem "Passage":
The child in the poem was 2 when we adopted him. He is the biological 1/2 brother of one of our other children. He was adopted from the foster care system in Virginia and is also special needs.
