Where Do I Find the State and Local Numbers on My Birth Certificate?

If you are an adoptee searching for your birth family, your adoption search angel may request numbers off of your birth certificate. These numbers are clearly labeled and located on the face of your birth certificate, the one with your current adopted name. State and local birth certificate numbers are assigned to a child at birth and are never changed. Some search angel volunteers can utilize these numbers in finding a birth mother's maiden name and/or a birth father's last name.
