General Requirements for a Russian Adoption

UPDATE
Russian adoptions between the U.S. and Russia are on hold pending the results of an April 20, 2010, meeting. The goal is to work out a bilateral contract on how Russian children are monitored and cared for post adoption.

  • Married couples and singles
  • Preference for adoptive parents not to be more than 45 years older than the child
  • More flexibility for parents adopting older children or children with special needs.
