Acne Keloidalis

Definition:

Affecting the hair follicles of black individuals, acne keloidalis is a circular elevation of the skin with pus that can be seen beneath the skin. Usually located on the nape of the neck. Severe cases can leave a large lesion resulting in scarring or permanent balding. Treatment includes topical antibiotic and anti-inflammatory agents. Surgical removal or laser treatments may also be suggested by some doctors.
