Birth : Marilyn was born June 1, 1926, to a single mom. She never knew her dad.
Foster Care Experience: Marilyn had a very difficult childhood with a mother and grandmother who were mentally unstable. She spent the first 7 years of her life with a foster family. At the age of 7 she went to live with her mom, but that didn't last. Her mom was declared legally insane and was admitted into an insane asylum. Marilyn then spent the next two years in an orphanage. At age 11, she went to live with a family friend. At 15, Marilyn was given a choice, marriage or the orphanage. She chose to marry.
Claim to Fame: She starred in very popular movies including, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes", "Some Like it Hot", "Bus Stop", "How to Marry and Millionaire", and "Seven Year Itch". She was and is still known as one of the most beautiful woman of the world.
Death: On August 5, 1962, Marilyn Monroe died of an accidental drug overdose.
