  • The month started off with an important interview on Primetime. Masha, a 13-year-old girl, told of her adoption from Russia by an American pedophile. Many applauded the girl's strength and courage while others worried how it would affect their pending adoptions from Russia. Senators Kerry and Isakson submitted new legislation entitled "Masha's Law" that will hold those downloading child porn to greater punishment.
  • Brad Pitt began the adoption process of Angelina Jolie's children, Maddox and Zahara with some difficulty.
  • While the newest Survivor winner contemplated adopting from Guatemala next summer.
  • The ban on Romanian adoptions remained in place as the dossiers that were submitted before the ban will not be allowed to continue. Many families are left heartbroken.
