- Additionally, I have a Rand-McNally Indexed Pocket Map and Shipping Guide of North Carolina from 1917. It shows Western Union Telegraph Sts., Money Order Post Offices, Postal Telegraph Stations. Steamboat Landings, Prepaid Freight Stations, Adams Express, and Southern Express.(Railroads) . Also, it lists populations of entire townships. My search was in NC and I couldn't find small towns on the census.
