Gestational Surrogacy

By , About.com Guide

Definition: The surrogate mother is not genetically related to the child. The egg from the intended mother and the sperm from the intended father - or donor egg and sperm are mixed and then the embryos are implanted into the surrogate mother. Other embryos are frozen to be used later. Consult a lawyer as you will have to petition the court within the surrogate mother's third trimester.
