Traditional Surrogacy

Definition: In a traditional surrogacy the surrogates own egg, the genetic mother, is inseminated with the intended father's sperm or with the sperm of a donor. The intended father will be listed on the birth certificate. Laws very as to whether the intended mother will need to adopt the child as in a step-parent adoption. Consult a lawyer.
