Visitation refers to a schedule of times that foster children have contact with different members of the children’s birth family. There are several different types of visitation. The schedule for visitation is developed by the social workers over the foster child’s case.
Visits are court ordered by the court and it’s very important that the child and the birth parents are at the visits as scheduled. Visits are an important part in helping a child to return home.
