Right place, right time
- We chose our agency, out of the phone book I think, just to do a homestudy for a special-needs adoption we were hoping to do through the National Adoption Center. When that never transpired, the agency let us know they were starting a program in Russia and had children with special needs there looking for forever families, so that's where we went. I wouldn't say our experience with that agency was perfect, or that we did the kind of research I'd recommend adopting families do, but the chain of events is what brought us our two wonderful kids, so I'm not going to second-guess now.
