Responses: 4

By , About.com Guide

A lot happened this past decade in the terms of adoption stories, from the frivolous to the heartbreaking. Did you lose count over the number of celebrity adoptions? Who didn't shed a tear over Anna Mae He? How about Peggy Hilt who beat her 2-year-old Russian adoptee, Nina, to death?

Which adoption stories do you think were the most important this past decade? Which adoption stories had the most impact? Perhaps it was just the changes in adoption trends that you find most important. Whatever it is, please share your thoughts on what are the most important adoption stories of the last decade.

"And This Is My Adopted Daughter"

Just downloaded for free from Amazon this amazing book by Polly Fielding about her strange relationship withboth her adoptive and biological mothers. It's compelling and movin. I just couldn't put it down!

Where is he now?

I often wonder about that boy who was removed from his adoptive parent's home by the law and returned to his birth mother. It was all over the news about 15 years ago or so? Heart-wrenching.

Most Important Adoption Stories

Without a doubt the adoption of my own daughter, my nephew a close second and our forever friend, adopted at the same time as my daughter.

Gay male friend adopts two boys

A gay male friend of mine adopted two little boys this year, and he and his partner love them very much. I was so touched by their story that I dedicated my latest book, Along Came Two, to them. I continue to be inspired by these two men whose two little boys have given them more than they could possibly imagine. As one said, "Those two kids are my life."
