Holidays are usually centered around "family." Yet, foster children are separated from their families and are reminded of family at almost all holiday gatherings. Add on the fact that holidays are also an extremely busy time of the year and you may have a great recipe for chaos.

So how do you go about preparing your foster children for the holiday season? How do you keep sanity at family parties? Share your foster parenting tips and sanity keeping secrets with the rest of us.

How to prepare.

Well I was proud to introduce the bright and gregarious little girl I care for, for one year and a half to my family the moment she was placed in my care, I shared with her things about her soon to be cousins and the things they do and like and that they would very much enjoy having a new cousin. I shared with my family endearing cute and funny things that the little girl who adopted me as her dad for a time, likes to do and fun moments we shared. When it came time to meet they all were exited to finally see one another. Busying techniques described in your entry here were things that came second nature to me. Thank you for sharing those! ;)
