The only news overshadowing the upcoming Christmas season is that of little Miss Jamie Lynn Spears and her upcoming bundle of joy. Yes, she's a pregnant, unwed teen. It seems that she has also become the cause of much debate as she has been placed in front of many young people with her own TV show on Nickelodeon's, Zoey 101. Many are worried about the message that her situation may send to other young people, her fans.
According to reports she has chosen to parent the child over adoption and never gave abortion a thought. Will other young girls think that parenting would be so easy? Not every young women has the financial resources of Miss Spears.
Jamie Lynn Spears had a lot to think about when making her decision on whether to parent or place her child for adoption. After learning the news of her pregnancy she reports that she took 2 weeks to figure things out for herself before sharing the news with friends and family.
Who would have thought that a Spears sister could bring so much important conversation to the dinner table - pre-marital sex, teen sex, sex education, adoption, abortion, teen parenting, role models, abstinence, and consequences. Wow - there is so much to discuss here.

Let’s be real. Most teenage women don’t consider adoption for their children. It just isn’t how it is. Women that place are in their early to mid to late 20’s, often well educated, don’t drink, drug or party, and are from middle class family. The world needs to wake up and realize who is placing, it isn’t a teenager with no resources.
