Definition:
A pre-placement assessment is a thorough report assessing different areas of a family in order to determine if that family is stable and fit to adopt a child. A pre-placement assessment for adoption seems to be very similar to an adoption home study in the type of information gathered.
The pre-placement assessment or adoption home study is different than the foster home assessment and is not interchangeable.
